While this position requires on-site presence due to the nature of the work, we prioritize flexible scheduling to support both personal balance and successful project delivery.<h2></h2><h2>Position</h2>Senior Controls Engineer<h2></h2><h2>Location</h2>USA, Louisville, KY<h2>How You'll Create Possibilities</h2><ul><li>Lead and support capital equipment procurement projects, including specifications, supplier selection, technical reviews, installation, and equipment qualification.</li><li>Partner with global and cross-functional teams (Design, Lean, Quality, EHS, Procurement, and Operations) to support new product introductions.</li><li>Provide controls engineering expertise across a wide range of applications, including:<ul><li>General automation</li><li>Component assembly cells</li><li>Customized fabrication equipment</li></ul></li><li>Ensure equipment and tooling designs align with GE Appliances standards, including Manufacturing Control Plans (MCP) and Manufacturing Control Instructions (MCI).</li><li>Champion safety-first engineering, collaborating closely with EHS to ensure systems protect the health and well-being of employees.</li><li>Collaborate with automation and robotics engineers to implement innovative, cost-effective automation solutions.</li><li>Support factory teams with system implementation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li></ul><h2>What You'll Bring to Our Team</h2>Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent hands-on experience in technical/manufacturing disciplines. </li><li>5+ years of hands-on & relevant controls engineering experience with automated manufacturing equipment and processes.</li><li>Experience with Rockwell Automation control systems, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View.</li><li>Knowledge and practice of machine safety (ISO 13849).</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Ability to work in large cross-functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members)</li><li>Good communication skills – will be expected to provide program report outs to cross-functional team</li><li>Ability to make decisions and willingness to take ownership of complex projects</li><li>Automation integration</li><li>Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD</li><li>Experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment and capital equipment procurement </li><li>Experience with plastics automation</li><li>Skilled knowledge of controls software (Rockwell, Emerson, Siemens) and coding structure for ladder logic. Experience with other controls programming languages such as structured text, and function blocks diagram is beneficial. </li><li>TUV Certification in machine safety. </li></ul>Work Environment<div><ul><li>This position is primarily based in Louisville, KY, but may require travel to other locations as needed.
